GCSE DANCE                                                          *Application open for 2026 entry*

COURSE OVERVIEW

The AQA GCSE Dance course is a fantastic and balanced 2-year qualification that allows students to explore dance as a performer, choreographer, and critical thinker. It's designed to be both a practical and academic subject, with the assessment split to reflect this.

The course combines practical and written skills with a focus on choreography and performance, as well as analysis and criticism of dance.

The course takes place over three hours every Saturday morning (during term time) and over two academic years.

Practical and written exams will be held between April and June in the second year.

OUR MISSION

Our aim is to provide an environment where like minded students are able to study dance as an art form, which contributes to aesthetic and social development and, as a physical activity, it promotes fitness and well-being.

At The DFC we will always move forward with a small cohort, enabling each student to work closely with their Teachers, ensuring they get the best possible experience throughout the course.

GCSE Dance is seen less frequently within the school curriculum, therefore, we endeavour to provide a professionally designed course for those who still wish to study Dance at Level 2.

TIMETABLE

The GCSE Dance Course will always run for 3 hours on a Saturday Morning during term time.

1st Years = Every Saturday 9:00am - 12:00pm

2nd Years = Every Saturday 10:00am - 1:00pm

FEES

Our GCSE Dance Course is £40.00 per week for the full 3 hours of tuition.

There are a number of various payment options available which can be discussed upon enrolment.

The only other additional expense is the GCSE Dance Examination Entry Fee which is requested by the external awarding body (AQA) and a small amount of uniform.
