This brand new two year course is designed to equip young performers (age 16+) with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a successful career in Performing Arts. Students are given first-class comprehensive teaching from our highly experienced and professional faculty, covering all aspects of Dance, Singing and Acting.
This course will not only prepare students for the audition process but will also help performers identify their own personal ambitions whilst preparing for life as a professional artist.

Our mission, and the aim of this Level 3 Qualification is to provide a flexible, vocationally-relevant course which will allow students to improve upon the skills needed to develop realistic employment opportunities and progress towards higher education.
With our hand-picked professional faculty, The Dorset Foundation College will deliver well rounded Performing Arts training to the highest standard.
This course boasts such a wide range of criteria which will guide students when deciding which pathway they wish to pursue in the future.
Students will train on site at the College Monday - Friday 9:00am - 3:30pm
We encourage all students to continue attending their private dance schools in the evenings and at weekends to further support their training.

UNITS AND SUBJECTS
With a total of x13 Units to complete over the two years, students will explore topics such as;
Audition Preparation, Choreography, Teaching, Improvisation, Acting Through Song, Planning for your career, Preparing/Producing a Production & the History of Musical Theatre.
Students will also partake in weekly classes in the following subjects;
Acting & Acting Through Song
Health, Fitness & Wellbeing
Yoga & Pilates
Our professional tutors will be on hand to help, advise and will deliver the most up-to-date information & styles within the Performing Arts Industry.
Student wellbeing and pastoral care are a high priority within our course and is considered important in order to help students meet the demands of high level training.
QUALIFICATION & GRADING
The grades and points awarded for each unit will formulate an overall qualification grade:
94% - 100% Distinction*
87% - 93% Distinction
63% - 86%. Merit
50% - 62%. Pass
This qualification is the equivalent of gaining x3 A Levels and can carry up to 168 UCAS points.
FEES AND FUNDING
This course is free to all students age 16-19 years.
Upon beginning this course students will be required to purchase the correct uniform and shoes.
Additional costs throughout the two years will include, costume fees & theatre/educational trips.
ACCOMMODATION & TRAVEL
Accommodation is available for students who are not local to the college.

The Dorset Foundation College is situated just off the main A31 between Ringwood and Wimborne.
There is a main bus route (Number 13) that stops outside the Industrial Estate every 30 mins.
The closest Train Stations are Bournemouth, Branksome/Parkstone & Poole
